Coordination of Thematic Symposium

The organizers of FIS2019 (1st International Forum on Sociolinguistics: Description, Theory, Methodology and Teaching) invite the scientific community to submit proposals for thematic symposiums that address the areas of Sociolinguistics and Geolinguistics of the national and international panorama around an agenda of themes, problems, actions and propositions regarding: observation and investigation of experimental or non-experimental/observational data,  implementation of experimental and/or computational methodologies, ethics in sociolinguistic research and such research at the digital age, identity and social meaning of language, linguistic contacts,  theoretical-scientific explanation and its relation with teaching and/or other fields of application or knowledge.

The selected thematic symposiums will last for 1h30min. Each symposium will contemplate 8 works/researches: 4 at the first day, 4 at the second day. The organization and selection of the works will be the responsibility of the coordinator(s).

Each proposed symposium should contain the following information:

1. The title of the proposed thematic symposium;

2. The name(s) and affiliation(s) of the proposer(s), including contact information and a brief biography of each organizer (70 words). The coordination of the symposium should be composed of at least two national or international doctoral specialists or at most three national or international doctoral specialists.

3. A summary of 300 to 400 words, including: presentation, justification and relevance of the symposium (central symposium problem/question), fundamental theoretical-methodological bases, general objectives and description of its format.

It is suggested that the abstracts be followed, in the same file(pdf) to be appended during the completion of the submission form of the symposium proposal, by a version in another language (Spanish, for example), so that the symposium proposal is widely spread (inside and outside Brazil).
